Self Service - Involuntary Leavers

Modified on Fri, 8 May at 2:26 PM

We are excited to announce the launch of a new self-service process for managing involuntary terminations and individual compensation payments. People Business Partners and Employee Relations Specialists will now be able to process involuntary terminations and Individual Compensation within Oracle, eliminating the need to submit requests to People Services.

What’s Changing?

Elimination of HR11 Leaver Forms:

  • Effective from the 4th May 2026, HR11 forms will no longer need to be submitted to the People Services team for processing involuntary leavers or adding payments. Instead, these actions will now be completed directly by you via Oracle.

Oracle Self-Service Process:

  • You will initiate the termination via Oracle self service and add in all relevant details.
  • You will add related payment details, such as redundancy or ex-gratia payments, using the new Individual Compensation Payments (ICP) feature. These steps are part of a guided journey within Oracle.

Integration with Employee Relations (ER):

  • For cases requiring payment support, you will collaborate directly with the ER team to ensure accuracy and compliance. This does not replace the offline conversations you would have had prior to this change.

Redundancy Calculators & Guides:

  • To assist you, we have developed redundancy calculators and a comprehensive guide, both accessible via the People Team Zone on the M Connect People and Policies Hub.
  • We have curated process guides and an FAQ sheet for the termination and payment process, accessible below.

Approval Workflow:

  • Submitted payments under £30,000 will route to the Contract Director for approval. Payments exceeding this threshold will require secondary approval from the Head of Employee Relations.

What’s Not Changing?

Timely Collaboration: Continue to engage with stakeholders and ER for complex cases or policy clarifications.

Offline Conversations: People Business Partners will still need to engage with the Employee Relations community when processing payments relating to involuntary terminations.
